Not sure if I'm posting this in the right place but...

So it looks like these are available now.  I'm curious how they hold up.  I almost went for an Apollo Twin SOLO but I read on a couple other forums that those and one by MOTU are actually just firewire put out over a thunderbolt connection (yes a little tricky imho).  I went with an RME Babyface and it's rock solid but they cost as much used as the Focurite Clarett costs brand new.  Anyway I thought I would share the news, I figured the Clarett's wouldn't be available till end of summer but it looks like they hit their release date on time.

Post a review of the  Focusrite Clarett

Remember Audio requires far less bandwidth than video, and todays asynchronous USB passes Audio streams with very low latency.

And for any given year, RME Audio interfaces have the lowest audio latency - but at a price.

Independent Reviews are in, and the "big deal" about the Focusrite Clarett is the Thunderbolt interface - which compared to USB interfaces, dramatically lowers Audio round trip DAW latency (1.38ms ) for Mac OSX users who track with plug ins, live Mainstage performance, and MIDI Guitar triggering soft synths.

QuoteI have a Mbox Pro 3 also but im thinking about buying the Clarett 2 this weekend for the converters and the preamps. I believe the Mbox Pro preamps have a dynamic range of 112 or 114 while the Clarett line is 118 to 119 and the 1.38ms round trip latency blow the mbox pro out of the water which I believe is somewhere near 5 or 6ms. These Thunderbolt interfaces are way better then any USB or Firewire interface out here. You should be able to record a song at the lowest buffer setting without having to adjust it. Tell you the truth, Avid should be scared because I believe the Thunderbolt and Pro Tools HD omni setup have a latency of 1.68ms and I believe that setup is $5000. The Clarett line claims to be sitting at 1.38ms so you should be able to mix and record just as good as that $5000 setup from Avid. The CPU's in professional studio's have very low latency because they use PCI cards for faster speed and hook their HD interfaces up to the card. Thunderbolt is the same thing but in a port Its looking like thunderbolt is about to be a super bonus for us all and the fact that Focusrite can achieve numbers like this and sell it for a great price is another bonus. Ditch the Mbox bro, I truly believe I am. LOL

There are other Thunderbolt interfaces on the market too, from MOTU and Zoom, UA, M-Audio

Still no Windows 8.1 / 10 drivers for the Focusrite Clarett Thunderbolt interface as of today.

*NOTE: The Clarett Range is not currently compatible with Windows.

Testing is well underway on our Windows driver for Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 and we hope to have a beta driver ready soon.

But I received an email from Focusrite yesterday that led me to believe the drivers should be ready soon.  ;D

I really love the claret 8 pre x .  Recording with plugins a snap and the sound is amazing.  The air feature is very very nice on guitar and vocals alike.

I have had the Clarett 4 Pre for a couple of months.  It is thunderbolt interface with a true 8 input system running into a new IMAC WITH  4 GHz Intel Core i7,  32RAM and ssd hard drive.

What is this "latency" of which you speak?  "AIR" feature adds a depth and warmth to vox that I really like (RODES mic)

No issues for me, but caveat emptor - https://support.focusrite.com/hc/en-gb/articles/208860089-I-m-getting-clicks-and-pops-when-using-my-Clarett-interface-with-my-iMac

Here are a couple of tracks showcasing the with the pre 4, VG99 and Gp10 with lots of plug ins...
