Hi all,

I'm doing a 24pin to 13 pin conversion-splitter box to use my Ibanez IMG2010 to drive my Roland GM-70 and VG-99 at the same time. This way, I'm gonna send MIDI messages to the VG-99 and still use the virtual whammy bar of the IMG2010 guitar and other available extra controls.

I have some questions for the tech in you :

  • What is the signal coming out of the hexaphonic pickup like ? Is it a plain signal like any other magnetic pickup ?
The pin #9 (24pin) should be wired to pin #8 (13pin) to transfer the SYnthesizer volume control. Do someone know what max VOLTAGE should the VG-99 receive on pin 8 ? I'm measuring 11.5 V as maximum output for this on the GM-70 ?
Someone have ever though doing something like this ?
    Any other observation ?

Thanx all

Nicolas

You might want to check out this website:

This accessory does just about exactly what you want:

There are videos of a Roland VG-99 and GM-70 being played at the same time with a vintage 24-pi guitar.

Good luck!

5V for max vol, 0 for 0 vol.

It may be a good plan to check with Wayne to see if he was the parts to put a discontinued item together :)

I have an old Roland BC-13, and an equivalent box that Wayne made for me works just as well, and has the bonus of doing more than the BC-13 does.

From where can we buy these discontinued units?

Contact Wayne Joness for current status today on these 13pin to 24pin conversion boxes.
He is also a member here too. Shoot a Personal message to "drjoness2001"

I understand the availability is always dependent on locating more 24 pin jacks, which ceased production back in 1988.

But clever Dr Joness seems to always locate more, and then makes a limited production run.

I understand this version is currently available today. RC-1324 "Red" - allows you to use any GK13 pin guitar with older 24pin Roland GR-100 /GR-300 / GR-700
