I'd like to use the amp modeling and guitar effects in my Roland GR-55 with all of my non-GK equipped guitars. Dose anybody know how to build a box that I can plug a 1/4" guitar cable in on one side, the 13 pin GK cable connected to the GR-55 on the other side, and would just pass the 'Normal Pickup' signal to the GR-55?

there exists many options

Many simply use an unmounted GK-3  - plug any guitar into its 1/4" input

This one uses a modified Roland US-20 to provide a "Normal Guitar input to GR-55 -

Wow, that's a bit more complicated and expensive than I was hoping for....

Isn't there a way to build a simple box?

I'd figure that I'd need to ground all the GK pickup signal wires, I could leave the s1 & s2 signal wires open (probably) and connect the 'normal pickup' signal wire. But I'd expect that I'd have to put some type of load resistor on the GK volume signal wire. There'd also probably be some other wiring required....

This is all a guess, but I'd think that there'd be a simple way of doing it.

This would save me the hassle of having to deal with completely different rigs for using non-GK equipped guitars and GK equipped guitars.

Most drill a hole and mount a new 1/4" input on the GR-55

i advice read the most important GR-55 thread on this site:

Or another expensive option... (things are expensive when hand made). I'm producing a guitar switcher with 4 regular and 4 GK guitars inputs and have available units within two weeks (just waiting for a screen print on the enclosures). The cheapest version has one synth output and foot switches for S1/S2 so you can change patch even when a regular guitar is selected. US price is abt. 275 USD+shipping and includes a short 1-meter GK cable to connect to the GR-55.

But I got more gear than I need...and I like it!

That's what I'm looking for! Thanks!

I gotta take some time and see if running the GR-55 into my acoustic guitar amp will work for everything. If so, I'll sell off my other amps and buy one of these switches from you.

Life will be a whole lot easier if all I have to move is a small acoustic guitar amp, the GR-55 and my guitars!

If you're only looking to plug one guitar in, why not just pick up a used GK-2a? Plug your guitar in the 1/8" input jack, set the mag/both/synth switch to mag and commence playing. Got a GK2a with a trashed pickup, this is the perfect reason not to toss the rest of it in the trash. I'd imagine mounting it in a little project box would be pretty simple, or maybe just mount the GK2a wart on the side of the GR-55 with double-sided tape and use a short 15-pin cable.
