Seems this thread below holds all details for expanding AmpliFire switching

Hmm I couldn't have figured that out by myself of course. I must have stolen from somewhere. I think it was mostly the top link. You connect the LEDs just like you do the switches. I started the LEDs at the low end and LEDs in the middle somewhere. You tell the software which is which so you could really put them next to each other if you wanted. FS, LED, FS, LED. That actually makes more sense than what I did. Oh well, just ordered another board so I don't have to take apart my 5 button. I'll do that next time. JUST MAKE SURE YOU PUT A RESISTOR IN LINE WITH THE LED!!!!

Am I deranged to actually indicate the 20 year old pod holds up respectably in certain models against the new stuff.  And why does the Atomic Amplifre sound so shrill here?  I've heard other demos that make it sound better.

Agreed on all counts.

I've never owned a POD (I was in the Digitech GNX camp), but I have had an Amplifire (AA3), and a Kemper.   The stock presets on the Amplifire are complete crap.  No 2 ways about it.  In all fairness, the same was true for my GNX back in the day.  They used a stock patch, and didn't know how to dial in a great sound with the AA3.   I can't comment on the POD stock presets.

Although a fair argument, you should know where this video came from.  See the Anterton's videos for "Can Kemper save Chappers, part one and two.  The Kemper rocked their world, and they were afraid of the repercussions of those videos.

The Kemper, on the other hand, is a completely different animal.  It is an absolute monster, and any comparison between it and the others is simply unfair.

These guys are have been up to something very odd. These videos use to be under Rob Chapman channel and now the first video comparing equipment they decide to mic up an FRFR amp? it sounds like they turned on the cab filter and cranked the Q on the Amplifire and were avoiding to go direct with the Pod.
