Anybody got a way to regenerate the volume in tone so it never decays?

If you are using the PCM synth tones, then assign the CTL Pedal Function to "Hold".
You have a selection of 4 types of Hold.
By pressing the CTL pedal, the current playing PCM synth tones will sustain,
with the Hold Type determining if just the initial sustained tones only will hold,
or the last played note,
or the last played note per string,
or an accumulation of everything played since on Hold.

OOOhhh , that sounds nice... looks like the vBow might just be achievable.

Along similar lines, the EHX Freeze Pedal will let you sustain a guitar sound for as long as you want. See https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Electro+harmonix+freeze .

There is a more elaborate version, which EHX call a "synth engine" which adds some very interesting capabilities to the Freeze pedal.
