Has anyone tested tracking with different strings like this?

One down side of TP is that it triggeres muted strings [the muted velocity is reduced by about 20 in my experience.]

I am wondering if this or other things are affected by string type.

Thanks!

My main FTP guitar has flatwounds and doesn't present any issues as compared with other roundwound-strung guitars I use.

I tried D'Adaria half rounds - they smell like a machine shop! Didn't like them at all - felt less smooth sliding than EB's to me - strangely "sticky"

Bigger strings can make the guitar sound unbalanced in my experience if you need to use big low strings and normal high strings. You would need to use some pretty beefy stuff to match the tension you get with a 27" scale.
Actually scale length doesn't affect it as much as you'd think. 10s on a 27 aren't as heavy as 11s on a 25.5, more like 10.5s. Check this out if you want to see how I create strings sets:

I've been using that applet for about 20 years, it's very revealing and informative. It won't run on Edge; use explorer and you'll need the lastest Java version.
