Now that I am on a quest to control my GR-55 with MIDI, I want to add a wrinkle and do it wirelessly.  So of course I need a wireless MIDI receiver - and I can't find one.

I have searched the forums and also the web, and have only come up with the M-Audio MidAir Wireless MIDI Transmitter and Receiver - which is out of production.

I also found the Starr Labs AirPower2 - but it is $260!

And I have seen some threads on the "Missink Link", but that also seems to be MIA.

Does anyone know of a low-cost device that will recieve wireless MIDI sent from an Android device, preferably that will plug right in to the GR-55's USB?  Thanks for the help.

Another solution if you had an ipad + a Raspberry Pi

There are options such as this one Icon inspire-5. Although I personally did not use it, but have heard a lot about this brand. ;D ;D ;D If you buy it then please tell him to use. Thx )

Panda Audio's midi beam is very good - it cheaper and uses lower power consumption than the competition too.

if you just want to wireless control the GR55 remote though that should be ok?, ...if you want midi notes back that's a different story, although you could run 2 midi beams if you really wanted to.
I would assume that as the GR55 is static that you only want to remote control into it though

Depends on your controller.
Panda works if you use a typical MIDI foot controller to remote control a rack mounted GR-55

Today most folks use a spare iPad running  MIDI Designer  or Lemuur as their MIDI controller, and then the Quicco Sound Mi.1 is the answer there.

Sorry about the necropost - I just came across the MIDIJet again.

Has anyone taken the $450 plunge and bought one?  If so, I'm curious how it stacks up to a direct connection in terms of latency.

The MIDIJet definitely looks more robust and professional-grade than the Quicco Sound unit; 500 ft range should be more than enough on stage.

I agree with Elantric that the Quicco Sound unit is a good fit for use with iPad as a controller, but I'm looking for a longer range connection to a MIDI foot controller.  For me it's more convenient to have presets on the foot controller for tuning/modeling; I've already experienced a few "oops" moments on the iPad (using Antares ATG) where I ended up with something I didn't want because of the touch screen.
