Deceptively simple tone that proves actually, a helluva a lot is in the fingers. I took my best shot.

So classic strat on bridge pup going into Boss DS and then Marshall Stack with a bit of delay. That's it. I've used a lot of mastering compression and limiting to beef the mix up. CTRL1 on VG99 and FC300 turns delay on and off.

I used the same patch for the rhythm part.

You'll notice that cosm B is live but not in the mix - try it for blending and see if it does anything for you

Gary was a fantastic player - being left handed but playing right handed gave him a level of strength and speed in the fretting hand that's near enough impossible to match. His speed picking was like a machine gun and he used the first two finger for 2 and 3 fret box stretches.

RIP fella.

And I'll be honest - this solo wasn't done in one take!

Excellent.

I'll be playing with that patch for sure.

True story:  I saw Gary Moore live in '83 opening for Rush on their Grace Under Pressure tour.  Most of the people had no idea who Moore even was.  He had his red strat and kicked into "End of the World" and my jaw hit the floor - he was even more amazing live than he was on record.  But most of the other people there hadn't heard of him and couldn't be bothered.  Too bad.  With the right audience he would have amazing.  You figure the Rush audience would have dug them but for some reason didn't.

Hmm. I guess you, Gary, Mr Vai, and a bunch of others are in the same ol' boat then.  ;D
Thing is: Fingers and picking need to head in the same direction and yours sure do. Great as always.
To V or not to V: That is the question.
