I've been a member here for a while but haven't posted much. However, since last time I have installed the S1/S2 switches on my bass and I now have a VB99!!

I have to say I much prefer the synths in the VB99, they're far more musical. I have the FC300 too but think I'll sell as it's too much for me!

Cheers

And here's mine. Build the bass in '86 because I loved the shape that much and didn't have that much money. A few years ago I bought the GI-20 and th GK-KIT-BG.

Wow, great effort. Must be nice and satisfying to know you built it yourself...

;D That's what I love about Roland's VGs. I put their bulky pickup on a wooden, cheapo Steinberger or a $90 Squier Bullet Strat, and they sound *excellent* when well adjusted.

The other mods I did,
Replaced the chrome knobs with the traditional black ones.
Replaced one of the volume pots with a blend, so instead of Volume + Volume + Tone, it is Volume + Blend + Tone.

Found this on TalkBass Forums,
too good not to share

Thanks for sharing, the design is amazing, beautiful and inspiring at the same time, makes me want to take up the bass again (it was my first instrument in a band, at 15 years old), plus learn to play harp ;) it is easy to note the possibilities behind are at least interesting.

Fear just pulls you out of being true to music, which is coming from a place of love. Love is the opposite of fear. I stay away from anything fear-related.

Gosh, what a beauty that is. I just got back from driving past DragonCon. This bass would look so good with a roaming band of elves.
