Hey gang.

I have found that I like windows VSTs that are availabel much more than the stuff that is available on ios.

I dont have an ipad so I am missing out on stuff like AMP one from mercurial or Bias FX vs Jamup or full DAW experience like Auria etc.

So since I would likely add either an Ipad or an Atomic Amplifire...I thought that perhaps I can get an affordable Windows Tablet running  a stripped down Windows install.

What kind of specs would a windows tablet need for audio production or Live Rig VST use?

You will need a powerful  / Fast Windows computer and low latency audio interface  to run real time VST audio processing, Amp Simulators on Windows OS at the same level as an iPad

Compared to IOS ( iPad Operating system), For musical tasks Windows OS is not as efficient , therefore faster CPU, and lots RAM are required for a smooth operating live performance rig

i run vsts that sound great on my i5 sandybridge laptop from like 2011 though.

Wouldnt any relatively new tablet be able to have that power?

Or are the atom processors just not enough power?

Need to compare Windows Tablets on a case by case basis
But in general an i5 CPU will always beat an Atom CPU on speed and performance
