why does my "time logged in" never change - no matter how often or how long I'm logged in?

(my opinion) the site time counter don't add static things like just looking at a page, rather it counts active moments, like typing responses, or the time it takes to retrieve a page on lookup.
So you can have a page open for days, but the time online does not increment unless there is user action.

I suspect my activity here "broke" the site's statistical analysis tools

Know that 50% of my 2177 posts in the GR-55 Board are simply these words:

Read the GR-55 FAQ

I cannot help but to think that you actually have sticky notes scattered around your desktop with ready-to-copy templates of "Read the ... FAQ", "... Top Things to Know", etc.  ;D

Correct-  I just copy 1st post in my Blog below

(It's apparent nobody reads it  - since I must copy portions of it every other day )

How does this answer my question? I have been stuck at 1 day 21 hours and 34 minutes for as long as I can remember.

The stats counter is working because you are now at
Total Time Spent Online:1 days, 21 hours and 43 minutes.
Total Posts:75 posts

I noticed you haven't actively posted much for 6 years, so that may be why the stats aren't high and haven't changed much for a while.

If you look at mine
Total Time Spent Online:57 days, 3 hours and 16 minutes.
Total Posts:3463 posts

If you work the stats figures like this
My time on line = 57 days, 3 hours and 16 minutes = 205396 minutes
divide that by the number of posts = 205396/3463 = 59 minutes per post.

Your stats worked the same way are
Total Time Spent Online:1 days, 21 hours and 43 minutes = 4903 minutes
divide that by the number of posts = 4903/75 = 65 minutes per post.

Quite similar results, I can assume the time per post equates (on average) to the amount of reading one does before posting.

True - you've only made 5 posts this year

https://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?action=profile;area=showposts;u=257

Its takes two to have a conversation  - start making 5 posts a week - and your Log in time stat numbers will rise

I just stay logged in, I haven't logged out in a few weeks... however, it says at present: Total time logged in: 16 hours and 32 minutes.

If I shouldn't stay logged in, please let me know...I just find it easier to check in when I have a few minutes here and there without logging in/out each time.  So much history and info here I'm trying to absorb...

this only applies to time spent posting  - not browsing

And you only have 38 posts - compared to my 19,334 posts

As the forum stats both show number of posts and activity per category, I guess browsing is counted as well. As a test, I remembered my total time on my forum stats page and spend some time browsing without posting. After three minutes I checked, and my total time had increased.

I guess 59 minutes per post is quite a high number. I usually type up something in two minutes. Only some posts take more time.
