Take a look at the interesting third party splitters, direct boxes, preamps, etc available there as well as

Look at the bottom of the page, a natural quilt-top strat close with TWO 13-pin outputs + quarter inch.
No need for a US20! Split it right at the guitar.
The Japanese 13-pin scene seems a lot farther along than here:

That's just one firm. I'm looking for others.
Grrrr,
It really frosts me that no US manufacturer has stepped up to make this kind of equipment available. I tried to get Carvin going with this last year, but it all fell on deaf ears. >:(
Interesting guitars and equipment. I tried to find a link to more english and purchase. Anyone know if those items can be purchased?
MCK over at the futureguitarnow.com forum site is living in Tokyo as I type this and he's sent a couple of english messages
there with no response so he's going to have his friend who is conversant in Japanese send them a message.
It looks like they've done a bunch of retrofits of various guitars for multi-hex outputs and all kinds of things.
I also like the custom rack systems they've whipped together for various clients:

Guys, I have an idea. There is a guitar player called Jim Porter who lives in Japan. I believe he is from Texas USA.
He also deals in Japanese guitars on eBay and has built quite a resume. He trades under the name meestursparkle on eBay so go ahead and search his current deals. He also has a website called
http://www.meestursparkle.com/ . Since he is established in the local scene and knows how best to ship guitars to US and elsewhere suggest you drop him an email etc and see if he might be interested in sourcing some of these goodies for you and shipping them over.
I recently bought a guitar from him and found him to be a great person to do business with. I will post what I find as well but its probably faster & better to work through an established trader. Hope this helps.
Regards
I bounced this idea off MeesturSparkle. Lets just say he was not very excited about it. Here's what he had to say :
Quote
Sourcing guitars like that actually doesn't work out for me usually. Most of the time it doesn't work because "buyers" want me to run all over the place to find them a guitar for cheaper than what the guy on the street would pay here.....If your friends understand a couple of things it can work though..
1) I must know first what a guitar is worth to them..so I need an exact model and an exact price they will pay for it...if they lowball me I will just never respond.
2) they must understand that I can't get pictures of a guitar I don't own
3) they must be able to pay in advance.
4) If I am not making $300 or so on a deal I am not doing it...sounds like a lot but sourcing a guitar takes 5-10 times as much time and effort as a "normal" sale does and I am swamped as it is.
All that being said send them my way if you want.
So apologies if I created false expectations around here... All the best.

Haven't the Boss poly stomp-boxes been around for a while? I seem to remember hearing about them sometime ago. I think they've been discontinued. Anyone?
Yes they have been discontinued. Some local artists in Singapore/Malaysia got hold of the OC-20G from ebay and use them for their solo gigs along with their Godin multiacs. They have proven easy to manage than bringing their gr09 or 33 to gigs. The OC-20G has a small footprint and fairly easy to tweak since the artists' only need the bass sound (5th and 6th string). One of them is Paul Ponnudorai on YouTube www.youtube.com/watch?v=eI47aAZFTs8 I have the OC-20G which I got for 100USD here in SG. Nice product indeed.
Thanks for the suggestion and attempts to help (me/us) get access to those nifty Japanese products. Very kind and generous of you. I think these discoveries are quite interesting. I 'm going to start watching ebay and surfing the net for these things to expand my 13 pin arsenal.
Bob E.
It just seems that it has been taken a lot farther over there (even if the Wave Pedal and Poly Octave
are discontinued) and there are apparently garage shops catering to the people who like this stuff.
Although I heard from Bill Ruppert and he said he had the Wave Pedal "two hours" before he got rid of it!
He didn't like it at all.
I think the Poly Octave would be a very useful pedal actually.

Now that guy kicks butt! Why isn't he a household name? Nevermind the high tech involved, that's a terrific performance!
He came from humble beginings in Malaysia and have made Singapore his home. He currently plays at the Harry's bar at the Esplanade, best performance theatre in Singapore. Saw Mike Stern, Yellowjackets, JohnSco, Lee Rit, Ernie Watts and various pop divas etc, they all exclaimed that the theatre is the best they have performed. Now back to Paul, he plays a mean trio on thursdays and fridays (harry's bar) and he's got a mean bensonesque tone on a strat copy with floyd. On Wednesdays and Saturdays its hinm with the Multiac. He released a Cd called, "Right on Time". A solo effort just him and his godin multiac and the gr-09 using it to get that bass sound. There are a few more youtube videos of him along that list when you follow the link earlier posted. He has jammed with Tuck Andress, Tommy Emmanuel and countless artists who chill after their shows at the esplanade.
Paul is a humble and would share his skills when you talk to him. A very soft spoken man, he makes any pop song into a world of his own. Catch him when you get a chance to visit Singapore!
I have the skills, to design and build in the USA most all products on the Proix site.
Why do i not pursue this?
Because the limited market - After i run the numbers for R&D Cost, overhead, Marketing, Distribution, Taxes, folks tend to cringe at the $300+ sticker price.

The TSC Japan website owner has a Shop located in Sakai City, Osaka Japan. You can view his shop here: http://www.proix.com/shop/index.html. I live in Nagano City which is a ways away, but I do visit Osaka frequently. Perhaps I'll stop by next time and ask about his site and services. In addition, by the looks of the website, I'm pretty sure this person deals only in Japanese and most likely with residents in Japan. Plus his prices are most likely expensive because simply put people have money to burn here. Similar to Yahoo Auction Japan, it's very difficult to get shop owners to deal outside of Japan without going through 3rd party people. The conditions stated above for 3rd party interaction are very much understood as a resident myself in Japan. Getting around and the time it takes to deal with people is very time consuming. If you speak Japanese though, it's much easier to negotiate and I almost always try to do business in Japanese as much as possible.
I'll keep an eye on this post and update when I have made contact with TSC.
Best Regards,
Jim
Note I also have both the GK Stompboxes and when mixed with guitar they are both awesome units. By themselves they are a bit redundant with other alternatives, but I like them very much when mixed with guitar. They also track extremely well and do offer a different sound despite what most people say. If I had to choose just one pedal I would choose the "Poly Octave" for sure as it really is a fantastic pedal.
