Roland GK-3 is not only for MIDI. With a little help from 6Appeal analog pedal it sounds very nice. As you most probably know, Roland GK pickups are magnetic pickups (small humbuckers with active preamp) and their signal that comes out from 13pin connector is just like normal electric guitar signal, only that there's one signal for each string. Plus a monophonic channel. So, all in all, you get multichannel electric guitar!

Stereophonic guitar with Spicetone's 6Appeal. If you have headphones, put these on. No double tracking! Just the standard GK (VGuitar) hex pickup. The sound path is fully analog.

Player: Mr Mart Pauklin
Guitar: a Fernandes (similar to Les Paul) with Roland GK-3 "MIDI" pickup
Pedal: 6Appeal by Spicetone (hexaphonic/multichannel distortion-breakoutbox)

Sound path: Fernandes guitar with Roland GK-3 in standard position by the bridge - 13pin cable - 6Appeal 1/4" stereo outputs- MOTU Ultralight - Ableton Live - excellent Cabinet IR Models by Gregor Henning (Studio Nord Bremen; http://www.grgr.de)

Thank you for watching! Any feedback appreciated!

yes, this "Spicetone's 6Appeal" is a great tool! for me, the MIDI conversion never worked fluently enough, but single string sound processing is the most natural and intuitive way to create a guitar sound. most Roland tools have some nice polydistortions and poly-touch-wah's too, but this unit is dedicated to those sounds and brings a lot more parameters through an amazing interface, and it feels analog, not just "low latency" :-)
