help please. I have used my gr30 for live gigs for about 6 years.  mostly just rhythms keys etc  I just got a gr55   I miss some of the patches on my gr30  is it possible to midi them together to still use those Los patches?  also. I need to go from playing a clean rhythm, to soloing. can't figure out how to do that without my volume doing funny things. to loud. not loud enough I would really appreciate your help. I am a female guitarist and the guys in the band give me so much sh** for using my Roland products they just want me to go old school pedals etc...I love to add those horns and brass sections.

The GR-55 does not respond to MIDI Note on/off message, but you can connect your 13 pin "GK" Guitar to the the GR-55 "GK Input", and then enable GTR to MIDI on GR-55 and use a 5 pin MIDI cable from GR-55 MIDI Out jack to GR-30 MIDI In jack- but this will yield a fair amount of latency delay for triggering the GR-30 Tone Engine with MIDI messages .

For minimum GR-30 latency - you need a Roland US-20 Gk 13 pin A/B/Y Selector - Connect your GK Guitar to the input on the US-20 and use the two short 13 pin cables (included with the US-20) between the US-20 outputs into the 13pin GK Inputs on GR-55 and GR-30

* Fast method to reset the GR-55 patch level
Use the EZ edit to set overall patch volumes, then 'write them into memory' ...so that switching between patches keeps the same levels.
