MG3 still have some difficulties to process minor seconds. If the second minor is played with a sweep, it can process it, but if the two notes are played together, we have a good result 3 times of 5.
On an another hand, a chord on all 6 strings is processed with no problem and very stable, with differences per string, such as a pitch bend on a string in the middle of the chord.

Perhaps with AI,  one day a future "MIDI GUITAR 12"  could perform real time Alternate Tuning from a normal electric guitar

Celemony Melodyne can perform a similar miracle, but not real time.

Vaultnaemsae

On a purely sensory level, it feels smoother. I haven't directly A/B-ed MG2 and MG3 yet but I was astounded at how well it was handling uptempo legato lines. And it seems to handle polyphonic close intervals better than before.
