Back in the 1980s the PPG Wave was a new sound on the scene.  Invented by synth genius Wolfgang Palm the PPG used wavetables to produce realistic attack of sounds but had a uniquely digital sound to it and the fact there was a digital sound source with analog filters gave it a unique sticks out like a sore thumb sound.  At times it could produce smooth breathy pads unlike anything else and other times almost a harsh type of sound.

I created this patch and forgot to save it so I had to spend some time recreate it again.

It's a bit dry sounding.  If you want it to sound like most of the 80s records it appeared on, turn on some more chorus/delay/reverb units in the machine (or externally) and go to town.

The example I cranked out in about two minutes this morning before I had to head off to the day gig.  Enjoy.
