Call Roland US Service - they will mail one to you after you pay $35 via Credit Card.

Tell them you wish to purchase a GK-2A Service Manual

FWIW - the GK-3A is current model and is different as it has "GK PU Type" voltage sense line (different voltages for GK-3A (guitar) vs GK-3B (bass) ) on former unused Pin 9.

Thanks, Sustainiac, I will call them tomorrow!

The reason i'm looking for the GK-2A Service Manual (Instead of the GK-3A), is because that's the pickup i have to experiment with. What i want to do is, disassemble the GK-2A, and make a completely different PCB board and casing for it, that will have a completely flat radius, modified mounting method (two screws on each side of the pickup, one set near the top, and the other set near the bottom, instead of one on each end as it is now), 50's style Fender string spacing, and make it short enough to fit inside of a 50's style Telecaster bridge plate with the raised lip on three sides. I don't know if any of this will work or not, but i have to try..The Telecaster is the only guitar for me, and I use the lip on the side of the bridge plate to anchor my fingers on when I play, so, I either wait for alternate hex pickup designs to emerge, or I do it myself...I have a Roland Ready Strat that I picked up over the summer, but I just can't get along with it at all..those damn contours make the guitar feel like it's constantly slipping away from me, and the placement of the controls is a nightmare (what were they thinking, putting the Volume control IN THE WAY of your picking hand?).

So, that's what i'm up to..the other reason I wanted to use the GK-2A is because pin 9 is still open on that one, and I was hoping somehow to be able to use that for having a REAL tone knob on my guitar that would control the Virtual Guitars tone (is something like that even possible?) that way, with two concentric pots on my Telecaster, i would have Volume and Tone controls for my REAL Pickups, and Volume and Tone controls for my VIRTUAL pickups.

Please let me know if there is any reason why it would be better for me to use a GK-3A with the VG-99 instead of a GK-2A..You know a lot more about this stuff than I do, so I really appreciate your thoughts and advice...thanks again, royce

You should always connect your 1/4" guitar output to the"Guitar Input on GK-3

This establishes the reference to String Ground for the SY-1000 and minimizes noise

If you skip this connection you lack a string ground reference on the GK13 pin cable conneection and may experience anomalies and noise on long held sustained notes

This is explained in the GK-3 Owners Manual
