A patch for Brian's solo with the "Synthguitar" in the middle of song.

I'll download and have a try tomorrow.

Adam.

P.s. I think the synth lead was played by Fred Mandel, not Brian May.

Downloaded but no time tonight to try it.  Tomorrow!

I am surprised how many people request an mp3 of patches. First of all a bit of work goes into a quality patch and then to go to the effort of making an mp3 is time consuming. Then there is the fact that each patch will sound quite different when you take into consideration the guitar and hex-pickup settings, user global settings and the DAW used to record with. Not all but many of the patches will sound different depending on the gear you use, for instance my GR-55 sounds so much fuller coming from my PA mains as opposed to my Tech 21 amps. My VG-99 is just the opposite it sounds better from my amps and through the PA it sounds thin. So I recommend that you download patches and audition them on your Guitar and gear because even if the author makes a mp3 it might sound different and there is a lot to be learned from looking at other peoples patches. Papabuss and aliensperebomb make exceptional patches and there a lot to learn from them. Tthey are two of the many here I have learned from. I don't mean to say don't request mp3's just don't expect they sound the same on your gear 100% of the time. Learn and contribute and it will make the forum stronger.

Hi G, imdurc, Jim, aliensporebomb and all the others!
Just see that there are so many replies to my topic
So I had to make a quick mp3 of course (with some intentionally played false notes so that Brian doesn't get jealous ;D... ;))
I recorded it through a normal PA. Perhaps there are some "latency problems..." ;)

Oh that's good - but just do a big whammy dive at the end of the solo to mimic the pitch wheel!   :)

Sounds really great on your mp3. If you have time Could you post a quick description of the parameters you used so I can try and make (and share) a GR-55 version?

Two GR 300 running through a FULL RANGE AMP....and "lots of effect settings..."
To describe all the effect chain settings would be a long story....
But as Elantric already said: Install the VG99 Editor and load the patch over FILE--Import SMF...and you will see all the excact settings. Let me know if you get a good result. Good luck!
