I'm sure it would be a combination of a hard pluck, acoustic with maybe slight chorus.  The instrument implies a 5+ second ring for every note unless hit again.  Just wondering if anyone has had success with it. It does not seem to have a preset on the GR-55.

Sure that is very possible!
Dont use chorus!
Learn how the thing is tuned and pitch it up where that is. Its capoed.
Turn off the bottom two strings an use an acoustic model.
Done.

Oh yea you have to learn to play in that tuning.
Just play it for a day and you will get close enough to be inspired to learn more.

Right

Hello,

Sorry for my english, I'm french.

Here is a dulcimer patch in attachment.

It is based onthe AC to 12stAC(CTL)patch.

The aeolian mode tuning on a dulcimer is DACC (CC to play the melody)
On the guitar I use this tuning : DADACC

I just put down the volume on the DADA strings, :) and the equalizer caractere is turned to +1.

For your information, the four most used tunings of a dulcimer are :

Aeolian mode: D A C C (Minor scale: A B C D E F G)
Ionian mode: G D D D (Major scale: C D E F G A B)
Dorian mode: G D C C (Minor scale: D E F G A B C)
Mixolydian mode: D A D D (Major scale: G A B C D E F)
