I actually like the two individual push buttons that come with the GT3 internal kit in preference to the single toggle switch. I don't know if it's just my imagination but they seem to generate less signal noise than the toggle switch on my Godin Freeway SA. I suppose it could be down to the piezo picking up the actual click of the switch.

I've been thinking about replacing the Godin switch with push buttons. Does anyone know of a source for swiches that match the Roland supplied items (preferably in the UK or Europe)?

A question for the electronically knowledgable,....
Regarding a momentary mini toggle switch, what is the difference in (off)-on-(off), and on-(off)-on?

I'm looking to purchase a replacement switch ,(S1/S2 combo), for one of my ibanez guitars with the factory gk2a install.

Roland comments on this option in the gk kit manual, and specifies off/on/off.
All the switches I've been directed to are on/off/on, and I've been told that will work fine, but a lot of Roland stuff is finicky.

The 'standard' S1 & S2 press buttons are used as "Momentary On"...regardless of what the Roland publication says (& to be fair, I never picked up on this even after having owned a copy of that piece of paper for YEARS!)...so what you need is :

(Momentary) ON - OFF - (Momentary) ON

...otherwise you will not make it work.... ;)

Read the 1st post in this thread for links to the type of momentary switch you need

Look for (on)-off-(on) switch the parentheses indicate momentary action.

Edit: installed this one on my guitar, shaft is exactly the same lenght and size as the other switch that comes with the GK3-kit
