Got my SY-300 hooked up to an old school Tektronix 2213.

Looks CRAZY!!!! not sure how this can help me understand how to better program this bad boy, but it is cool as hell to watch in real time all four signals get destroyed by the SY-300. If there are 3 oscillators why do I get 4 waveforms??

I have a TEK 2465CTS  - had it since the mid 1980's -   used it make measurements when I did contract work for NASA

Still works like new today

Back in the 70's i used all of these at one time when working at Garrett Airesearch on Lear Jet engines on 190th street in Torrance, California ( not my collection)

the Normal guitar is often exposed on an Oscilloscope

if you have a smart phone you can also use these apps for an oscilloscope like  view

Kind of what I figured. Love the Old School Tektronix. Pops was an old time electronics guy. He gave me this low end one to start, but has a couple MONSTERS for me!!!

I still have one of these old CRO's, Hitachi V422
it's a bit more dusty than this picture.

That is a sick collection. Dad was is/was an old school TV repairman. Has worked in computers and network integration his entire life. Olivetti, Bunker Ramo, and Cisco services to name drop.

man I remember being a kid and he had boxes and boxes of "tubes" and all I knew was...........................they exploded.

HOLY HELL WHAT A STUPID KID!!!! I was literally in the garden of Eden and didn't get the opportunity to blossom. But man there was always stuff everywhere and the soldering iron was always around.

"Solder" remains My favorite programming language.

Back when it was fun to play with mercury, until it eventually disappeared into the floorboards.

I hope that was not a problem - I'm guilty of editing posts and adding relevant contextual reference pics / videos content so others can learn.

Absolutely not,  that reference was a big old Thank You!!

Ah! Those were the days ;D

Since my job changed away from electronic design and more to playing with computers  :'(
I have no access to a scope, so I got myself one of these a few years ago. Only a 1Mhz input bandwidth, but more than enough for audio. Only a bit bigger than a decent multimeter and runs on batteries, Not bad for £75 (when I got it).

Jones O'Tool Plus

Otool PlusThe new and improved Jones O'Tool Plus oscilloscope and audio tools eurorack module from Dave Jones Design was in development for almost two years. It was finally released in June 2016.
A greatly improved version of the original O'Tool module, with temperature stable readings, extreme accuracy, added modes, upgradability, and more.
Single channel oscilloscope
Dual channel oscilloscope
3D oscilloscope
X/Y display
Level meter
VU meter
Peak meter
Voltmeter (with p-p and average DC)
Frequency meter
Tuner (guitar tuner style)
Linear spectrum analyzer
Log spectrum analyzer
Spectrogram
BPM meter
Metromome
It includes user configurable settings and can remember settings at power up for three users. That means you can have different settings for home, studio, and performances, or any three different sets of settings.

It is temperature stable and extremely accurate. It can monitor two signals, with inputs looped through to other modules. The scope modes include an external trigger option.

It is firmware upgradable. It has a jumper for internal or external 5 volt source. It has an expansion connector for possible future add-on modules.

Power requirements:

80ma +12v
22ma -12v

-or-

12ma +12v
70ma +5v
22ma -12v

Width: 8HP
Depth: 40mm
Suggested US retail price: $325  (prices overseas will be higher due to international shipping, import duties and taxes, and other international costs)

You can view your waves by using a DAW as well. I use Fruity Loops. Just connect your SY-300 via USB, open FL up, and in the mixer, if you select MAIN (under SY-300 - mono) as your input source, then mute the master (to get no additional feedback if you're already using headphones/amp), you can now have the signal going into FL. Then you can choose the "wave candy" plugin and set it to oscilloscope, tweak it to your liking (you can make it so that it's always on top, etc.), and voila. Check it out in these screenshots: http://imgur.com/a/yw1oo Surely there are similar plugins in other DAWs as well. Hopefully this helps someone.

I don't think a simple Suzi is not really helpfull. Sound is much more complex, especial the envelopes an the very first behave of sound seems to be importand.
...sorry  for my bad english, i'm from germany
