OK new to this so excuse my igornance. If I use a 300 with the 55 will it be an asset? It looks to me like I could have the extra control foot swithces and exp pedals to do an array of things. It does do more than change patches, right? You don't have to go into great detail but could someone explane what I can get out of the FC-300 / GR-55

Apart from the obvious "patch changes", the FC-300 can do pedal control via continuos controller midi data (cc#) with the EXP and CTL pedals (with a requirement to program the relevent assigns in the GR-55), and i believe the FC-300 can also send pre-programmed system exclusive commands too.

So if I wanted to used the Expression Pedal on the 300 to say increase the Flanger Rate, I would program the 55 to use the 300 Expression Pedal, is that correct? Sorry for all the questions (which probably seem elementary to you). I just want to get my head wrapped around it before I drop 400 bucks on a unit I'm not sure of.

Yep, that's it.
Don't forget the midi cable from the FC-300 midi-out to the GR-55 midi in.
