This is my first attempt at making a string orchestra using the SY-300. The pick attack is a bit too audible on the high violin. The piece is a highly improvised one without any care to details. Reverb is Valhalla DSP.

To V or not to V: That is the question.

Very nice. Patch exchange if you haven't done so...  8)

Great, I really enjoyed the tune. Sounds quite unusual and interesting.

Just listened again. What a great job on this patch! Good stuff!

Very nicely done!  I hope you've shared this patch in the patch exchange!

QUESTION:  Is there any way to assign a ctrl footswitch to essentially hold the current sound while you play something else over top of it?  For instance, play a chord of string sounds, step on the ctrl1 footswitch to hold that sound, then play a melody over it?

Cheers,
Gruuve

Very nice sound.
I do have a couple of questions...

are you using a volume pedal to increase the envelope sound?

are you doing something special to the compressor on the input?

In any case they really sound good. Thanks for sharing.

Thx for liking, guys.
Some answers:
- I'm not using a footvolume to swell the tones. It's done using an attack envelope in the OSC section.
- You can hold and play using CTL, but you can't play using the held OSCs. This means that if you use all three OSCs for a sound and hold them all, you're left with nothing to play. You can't hold and change patches to play either.
- I run the input tuned to peak according to my max attack with comp on.
