Hi all,
im thinking, i like the form factor of the iRig stomp but not the crappy audio quality. So why not connect a true-bypass stereo loop pedal like this http://www.thomann.de/gb/lehle_little_lehle.htm to a stereo interface like the line6 sonic port and have a high quality version? It sounds like a product to me.
Then im thinking, why use a line6... why not try some OEM thing like this: http://www.dx.com/p/usb-2-0-96k-24bit-3-5mm-dac-sound-card-adapter-w-built-in-microphone-black-311537#.VNTRW1XF8XS along with a CCK.

I'm not digging your idea of using this for guitar ( Zero Instrument Input)

Also for use with BIAS/Jamup Pro/Yonac ToneStack - I never recommend using ANY interface that connects directly to the  iPad / iPhone TRRS Headset jack

Currently I'm really liking the Line6 SonicPort VX ( due to the extra Stereo Line Input and 3 built in high quality mics)

Next would be the IK iRig Pro  - with XRL /14" Combo input and separate MIDI Input for a MIDI floor controller, or MIDI Keyboard controller input

Sorry should have been clearer, I will be using stereo line-level inputs coming from various sources, and this will not be connecting to the headset jack but via the CCK as i said. As an app-dev i already have ALL of the other interfaces [apogee, line6, ik, alesis, focusrite etc] - im just still thinking there is a better way, particularly the form factor.

So im gonna test this. I heard reports that it worked well for synths, so its worth a trial.

In that case  - cool! But I predict a poor noise floor, as the 3.5mm input is Stereo Mic In - not Line in, and I see no input controls

Quote. FG-UAU08A USB DAC sound card adapter is lightweight and portable, sound quality can up to 24-Bit USB DAC (digital-to-analog converter), can connect computer with speaker; 2. Interface: USB A type interface, stereo output, SPDIF interface, stereo microphone input interface, LED indicator: power on and USB link indication, play/mute, record/mute, sampling rate, built-in microphone; 3. Specification: according with USB 2.0 full speed standard (12Mbps), according with USB Audio Device Class 1.0; Button: volume up, volume down, play mute, microphone mute. USB powered, no need external power supply. Supports 24-bit 96kHz sound effect. Operation system requires Windows 8, Windows 7, Vista, XP 32/64-bit, MAC OS and Linux.

Just last night I had a learn a few new tunes that were not already in my iTunes Library, and it was a joy to use Line6 SonicPort VX with its TRS Stereo Line input, and a short 3.5mm TRS cable from headphone output of my spare ipad and record a few tunes off YouTube  into the recorder on Yonac ToneStack on my iPhone 6 Plus - then I could set up A/B Loop points and learn what I needed to learn for this weeks gig.

I'm not sure if I've got this right but I think Cell 7 means that this would use line in and out via an audio interface connected using the lightning connector. Therefore not using the 3.5mm jack.

Sounds like a cool idea while using a stompbox approach.

I own an iStomp and have never used it in any useful way due to the poor audio quality. But a quality audio path with a way to have true bypass would be great for effects processing with the iPad/Phone.

Actually I now interpret as Cell7 is seeking an alternative to the typical IOS Audio Interfaces (like the IK iRig Pro /or SonicPort VX)  - and is seeking a small form factor 24 bit  Audio USB Class Compliant Interface ( to use with an Apple USB Camera Adapter+iPad)  - such as this one
