Ghost - Polydrive cross compatibility
« on: June 16, 2017, 12:07:48 PM »

This must have come up before, but I can't seem to find it...

Are RMC and Graphtech pickups compatible? If I had an extra polydrive, could I swap it in for a graphtech without changing (much of) anything else? If not, what other modifications need to be made? Would it even be any more convenient than just starting from scratch?

edit:
I just found someone else asking the exact same question, but no response so far. Maybe the question is too outrageous to respond to? I honestly don't know.

Ive done it and it works

the big difference between RMS vs Ghost

RMC maintains tight Q/C during manufacture to minimize adjacent string cross talk and provide lower noise electronics

Read Richard McClish discussing his RMC pickups here

Hope this isn't a de-rail. I've wondered if I can use Ghost piezo saddles with RMC electronics. I'm constantly breaking strings at the saddle and have to be very careful filing those. This is the reverse of what jodama asked but I would love to know if it works.
