I bought my wife a new iPad this passed Christmas, to replace her older iPad.  Since it's not being used anymore, I was thinking if there was any way to use it as a DAW Controller.  I looked online, and saw a few options, but they were all wifi, which I don't have in my current rig (and don't really want wifi on it).

Is it possible?

Most of the DAW control apps for IOS are listed here

Which DAW are you using ?

google "iOS DAW controller"

but use the name of your DAW

i.e. "IOS REAPER CONTROLLER"

"IOS ABLETON CONTROLLER"

"IOS Protools controller"

etc.

Thanks.  Initial results are telling me that I'm pretty much hosed, since I'm directly connected to the network, no wifi.  Also saw another option was IOS to midi, but the interfaces seem to be as expensive as some lower end controllers  :(

How do you connect your iPads directly to the network without wifi ?

Many of the examples of iPad DAW controllers listed at link below use a wired connection , just use a USB cable to your computer

Here is a free ipad controller for Ableton Live that uses USB cable connection.
