....and started looking around for drivers of hardware/software that I own to see what needed updating and got to the BTS and noticed that it's not supported.
Do we know if boss is working on an update?

It works up to a certain point,
where I believe you can not make live set backups.

I hear that the whole Boss Tone Studio suite is to be updated soon too.

How long ago did they tell you it was "important"?

I've got a GT-1 full of patches I want to back up and rearrange, but I ain't doing that one patch at a time.

I wonder if I could use SysEx Librarian to do this. I don't think so, because it's not the GT-1 in control, it's that BTS (cr)app.
