Awesome!  Thank you; I've been thinking about buying one of these when they become available.

This is great news, Gumtown - especially since I bought the GT-001 last week on the strength of your recommendation of the similar GT-100 for use with Bass. Can I be cheeky and ask how close you might be to completing this new editor? Even cheekier, will you be converting your GT-100 patches (especially the Bass ones!) to the new .tsl format and sharing them with us? Thanks for your great GT-10 editor, which I use all the time.

Completing the GT-001 editor may be still quite some time away,
I don't have a GT-001 to test on,
perhaps you could try the editor as it is so far and let me know what doesn't work?

The bass patches are now posted in the patches section,
try them with the Tone Studio editor and also let me know if they load in there OK..

Hi Gumtown,
Downloaded and tried out your preview GT-001 yesterday (Weds) morning, and have just downloaded your bass patches in .tsl this morning. Will try those as soon as I get home from work. I will be more than happy to let you know my experiences with both. Would you rather I posted my comments here - or elsewhere, perhaps?

PS There is an annoying bug here which refuses to accept my '6 stringed musical instrument' verification answer whenever I try to post, but is fine when the question is re the GK pins!

It will have to be switched into 'deBug' mode (midi/usb preferences settings page) to 'connect'.

Sadly, I tried loading both your Bass .tsl and the 'Sounds Of The Heroes' .tsl into Tone Studio and neither of them worked. Specifically, they loaded – but only as as blank 'default' patches, with no changes in the main Editor GUI window.

Thought you might appreciate some initial feedback on my use of your GT-001 Editor preview version (though perhaps not, when you've read it!).

1. When first firing it up, and making sure that 'GT-001' is selected in the Midi/USB Preferences (debug mode on), the following message appears when the 'Connect' button is pressed:
'Warning – Patch Data Received Is Incorrect! 2234'

2. In the User bank tree window on the left, all patch names are shown as 'Bad Data'.

3. When you select a slot (eg U001), another message appears saying
'Patch Data Transfer Wrong Size Or Data Error. Please Make Sure The GT-001 is connected correctly and re-try'. (This message occurs every time you select a User slot).

4. However, when I select a slot in this way, the correct patch name is displayed on the GT-001 itself, and it plays and sounds as it should – but the pedal parameters displayed in your main GUI window remain exactly the same, whichever patch you use. If I then press, say, a chorus pedal and flange effect, this DOES turn on and affect the patch, but if I then change patches those pedals remain on but DO NOT affect the next patch.

5. It will not load .SYX, .MID or .GCL patches.

Obviously, I would like to have been more positive, but I fully appreciate that this a 'work-in-progress' project and I salute you for all the unsung work you've put into your previous editors. Good luck with this one. Anything I can do to help, in my cack-handed Newbie way, just ask!

Thanks for trying it,
the magic number "2234" is what I was after,
being the data size of a GT-001 patch.

I will keep plugging away at the editor. . . . .

That is odd, because with the GT-100 Tone Studio editor, I can load them and preview them on the GT-100.

Try the patch set below, this was loaded and saved completely by Tone Studio,
GT-100FxFloorBoard editor does not see any difference with this one or the one generated by itself.

Progress, of sorts. This latest batch of 4 patches in .tsl WILL load correctly into Tone Studio. Each patch is shown by name in the 4 User slots on the left, and the parameters for each patch appear correctly in the main Editor window. The patch names also appear in the small LCD display of the GT-001 itself.

The BAD news is that the 4 patches are completely silent!

They are setup to make use of the Foot Volume (EXP pedal), so the FV level could be at "0" (heel down).
I am not sure how this maps out for the GT-001, setting the FV level to 100 would fix it, or using an external EXP controller.

Also the first time I have seen patches interchanged between GT-001 <> GT-100,
I would have expected them being 100% compatible, especially using the Tone Studio editor.

I am sure we will get there in the end  ;)

Bingo! We have liftoff, Mr Wunderkind!
I reloaded the 4 patches and opened them in the Editor window. Clicked on the 'FV' icon, which gave me access to its parameters - all set to '0'. Set Vol Min to '1', Vol Max to '100' and Level to '100' an Lo, the wondrous tones of God's Own Instrument wafted deliciously into my eardrums.
Baby steps, Mr Gumtown, but we are indeed getting there!

Here it is, Mr G. Just fired up v20140729 (0728 here!). It's now showing the correct Patch names in the bank tree. Not yet showing correct parameters for patches created on the GT-001, but I quickly tried loading a couple of your .gcl Bass patches. $$Moneymaker$$ worked ok, and the parameters seemed to show in the main window - but I guess there will still be a problem (eg with your Volume Pedal patches) where the set-up in your original machine (GT-100) does not match that of the GT-001, because of the latter's lack of pedal and control switches. Perhaps original GT-100 patches will have to be re-saved without those specific parameters, i.e SFX only, no switches/pedals.
Brill work so far, Mr.G. Thanks a million.

Thanks for the debug file, valuable info on patch structure in there.
Just one more required to do the System/midi stuff.
If you can delete the existing debug.bin file (so a new one is generated),
and after the "connect" is lit, press the SYSTEM and MIDI buttons.
Then it should capture the system data file structure into the debug.bin file.
and post here.

I will keep on hammering out GT-001FxFloorBoard updates until it is right.

Just one more required to do the System/midi stuff.

Followed your instructions. When I pressed 'System' button the first time, FxFlBd crashed.
Deleted 'debug.bin', started again.
This time, press 'Midi' first. This message appeared:
"The Boss GT-001 System data was not transferred!!" (Midi GUI Window opened - closed it)
Pressed 'System' button - same message as above appeared (System GUI window opened - closed it).
Saved 'debug.bin' as per attachment below.
Good Luck, Mr G!

the latest "20140806" (6th August... it is here.. GMT+12)
I hope the past issues have been fixed, would like to know if anything is not working.

Yet to modify (remove) some of the GT-100 pedal assignments out of the Assigns and function lists.

Hi, Mr G,
More improvement with the latest (0806) version of FxFbd. Now, when I load one of your original .gcl patches, not only does it play but also the correct parameters & FX are displayed in the main GUI window. The bank tree on the left now displays the currently-loaded patchnames on my GT-001, but the GUI does not yet indicate the appropriate parameters. Will play with this some more later (had to finish my Bass patches first!). Clearly there are differences between the two machines, despite them containing the same basic chipsets - but I'm sure you'll conquer them in the end, mate!

Thanks for try it out  :)

A quick operating tip that might not be obvious with out a help document yet..

The "patch tree" in the left panel,
a 'single mouse click' will change the GT-001 patch - allowing auditioning of the selected GT-001 patch to compare it with the current one in the editor GUI. The current edited patch contents will remain unchanged in the editor.
a 'double mouse click' will load the selected GT-001 patch into the GUI and replace the current displayed one.

The latest editor version should be able to open and load (and convert) GT-100/001 *.smf, *.gcl, *.tsl, *.syx, GT-10 *.gxg and *.syx, GT-10B *.gxb and syx, GT-8 *.syx, and GT-6B *.syx files.

I hope the System/Midi menu's load in the system data correctly (without error).
If not, I may require another debug.bin dump which has had the system/midi windows opened many times (in debug mode and waited until the bottom left data dialog has finished receiving).

By Jove, chaps...I think he's done it!
Seems to be 'reading' my patches just fine now, Mr. G., and the visual parameters are appearing in the main GUI.

When I open each bank in the left-hand tree, each named patch opens a trifle sluggishly, whilst a message appears at the bottom of the page, together with a very long number, to indicate that the system is reading. Each ensuing bank opens slowly, patch by patch but, once open, the patch-names remain and can be readily accessed as normal.

Have loaded a variety of assorted patch formats, mostly with success, but I think the abiding problem will remain that of patches which include volume/switch/controller/pedal criteria from the GT-100 which the GT-001 may not recognize or act upon.
Perhaps people can add short descriptions to their patches, advising of specific switching requirements?

Will spend more time giving it a sound thrashing, but I think you're virtually there, Mr.G. Cheers.

The true test will be disabling the debug mode,
that will speed up the loading time considerably of patches and patch names (so long as all goes well).

I hope the system/midi window/pages open OK too with no errors.

Another windows version update (20140822) with the EZ-Tone fixed, and hopefully the system/Midi pages, and the 'connect'.

Keep me informed on where the GT-001 is at with the editor, been working on may other editors too, so I have lost focus.

list things to test and confirm (preferably with debug mode off).
1. GT-001 'connects' with connect button (stays lit and no error message

2. Left panel 'patch tree' items can expand and patch names occupy the list

3. A 'double click' on a patch name from the patch tree will load the selected patch into the editor GUI.

4. the 'write' button will write the patch to the GT-001 (write location is selected by 'single click' of the patch tree or existing patch number in top left display)

5. opening the System or Midi page will load the current GT-001 settings without error.

6. EZ-Edit tone page works without crashing.

The editor program has never been  quite finished, just that small bug which crashes it.
I will need to buy a GT-001 to fix that, waiting to find one used at a good price.
The price of buying a new GT-001 doesn't justify using it for a week or two to finish the editor, than have to turn around and sell it at a loss.

Hi Colin,

Getting the GT001 Floorboard to populate the patch tree correctly but when it finishes it immediately crashes.

I have the following set up:

Win 10 64 bit.

The latest version of Floorboard (20170518)

Midi in : GT-001 , Midi Out: GT-001  (any other settings I get no reply error in the patch tree locations)

Debug On, Auto Select GT-001 USB on

Probably something simple I'm doing wrong?

Thanks

Good day to all.
A question about the software FxFloorBoard: I can run almost every patch (.sys, .mid, etc..) on my GT-001 (some of they make no sound and I understand it must be a patch for other FX unit model) but I cannot save, the ones that runs OK, in a good way as .tsl to open with the Boss Tone Studio because there is no sound on GT001 when I import the patch just saved. Is it right? FxFloorBoard is able to open and play but not to save? By the way it is a amazing software and thanks to GUMTOWN.

Many shared patches come from the GT-10 and GT-100, where they may have been saved with the Expression pedal set to minimum volume.
In the GT-001 settings, if you manually dial up the F.V. (foot volume) level, you will hear the sounds.

GT-001FxFloorBoard saves patches from my recollection.

Thanks for the reply gumtown.
Yes, the patches without sound, the problem was at FV levels. But one thing I realize is that when I save the patch I am playing in FxFloorBoard - it is not muted - as * .tsl file and I load it in Boss Tone Studio, max volume is at minimum value. That was the reason there was no sound. Well, now I can play and save, knowing what happens, thanks to you.
Thank you again.
